Nothing untolerable, but still not pleasant.Īny advice on this would be much appreciated. And that introduces a small amount of noise. The only solution I have for now is to turn down the mixer's faders (instead of setting them at unity gain). I have done several forum searches, but none yielded any results. When I play with the front knobs (or CueMix DSP), I will actually HEAR the levels going down, BUT the meters on the 828 are very hot. However, there doesn't seem to be a way to set the input level. Then set the individual input levels on the 828 to -14dBFS or so. I have taken suggestions from people here recently who basically advised me to set the pre-amp on my mixer hot enough but not clipping, and set the mixer's fader to unity gain.
MOTU 828 MKIII HOW TO
Sample rates: 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.I would like to know how to control the input level of the analog inputs of the 828 (if I'm not mistaken, the term for it is called "pre-fader tracking level").įiddling with the front knobs, or the included CueMix DSP software does not help because those only adjust the output of the analog inputs (AKA post-fader tracking level?). Eight 24-bit 192kHz analog inputs and outputs on balanced/unbalanced 1/4″ TRS jacks.Clip protection - Mic/guitar input limiter prevents digital clipping and distortion from overloaded signal levels up to +12 dB over zero.Mic/guitar instrument sends - add your favorite outboard EQ, preamp, reverb or other processor to the two mic/guitar inputs, before the signal goes digital. Two front panel combo jacks provide hi-Z 1/4” guitar input or low-Z XLR mic input with phantom power, pad and plenty of gain.Or add send/return loops for outboard gear – with no latency.
